Ashford Formula
Maintenance Instructions

Congratulations! The exposed concrete in your facility has been treated with Ashford Formula, the world’s finest densifier of concrete. Your concrete is now undergoing remarkable changes. The surface, through a unique chemical process, will become extremely hard, dense, dust-proof and easy to clean. These changes in your concrete will occur internal over a period of 6 to 12 months. If you should have any concerns about the performance of your floor, at any time, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

What to Expect:

Directly after treatment:

After 12 Months (with a good maintenance program):

  • The floor should have a low satin finish.
  • The surface should have a hard shell. Most foods or liquids will not penetrate the surface of the concrete.
Maintenance Tips:

  • Do not wax or coat with other sealers. Ashford formula is specifically designed to seal the surface without further treatment.
  • Clean often. The water, combined with abrasion, polishes the floor and brings up a shine. Use a black stripping pad on automatic scrubbing equipment (take care not to remain stationary while scrubbing).
  • Use a high pH detergent to clean the floor. Acidic cleaners or sweeping compounds will dull the appearance of the surface.
  • Clean up spills quickly. Acid concentrates will permanently etch the surface of the concrete. Foods stains such as mustard, grape juice etc. may leave a residual stain if not removed quickly. Keep a good oil-emulsifier on hand to clean up oily or fatty spills.
  • Painting or striping can be done at any time (consult with the paint manufacturer for recommended preparation of the concrete floor).
