All floors have to stand up to abrasion to
some degree, but none are more demanding than waste transfer tipping
floors and heavy duty repair shops. These surfaces have been shown to have
as much a 1" of surface loss per year using conventional high strength
ready mix concrete mixes. In fact, high traffic surfaces without toppings
have exhibited the need for major surface repairs after only the first
year!
Even the addition of high quality dry shake surface hardeners does not
inhibit surface thickness loss in high traffic areas for long because they
eventually wear through leaving no protection against continued abrasion.
Toppings alone provide the only means of producing long term protection to
avoid significant surface replacement costs - never mind the loss in
business productivity and down-time.
Duron's methods include both site and plant mixed specialty aggregate
metallic and non-metallic materials for different environments to fit life
cycle expectancies. Within any floor area, there are natural traffic flows
which allow for the use of different materials and thickness' to meet each
particular demand (eg: impact and abrasion). Our staff analyzes and
designs the necessary floor protection systems for each floor area to suit
both long term performance and the minimum necessary investment in your
floor. Regardless of location, our design staff and field crews travel
large distances regularly to install these specialized surfaces to
produce consistent and durable results every time.
We would be pleased to assist you in any of your design and planning
needs.
